Royal Betrothal

Quite a kiddie roller coaster in the beginning, quick ups and downs.
Quick emotional switches in the 1st 5 minutes.

They are using the same music from The Double - which our FL was FL in.
😂 - I wonder if this is her own music.
Love the song - although it is played a bit differently here (at leaast it sounds like it to me)

On Rewatch

I am watching this knowing our FL is educated not smart. There is a difference

I really enjoyed all of ep 1
The seriousness and the humor

The wicked never sleep
Mei Er is just wicked for nothing.
Her uncle's money and power aren't enough to keep her happy. So she goes around ruining people to offset her lack of confidence

Our girl.,the actress never fails
She always does an amazing job at DELIVERING DA BUSINESS
Girl you gonna bow or burn. Choose one. 😂

The contrast of loyalty and unwarranted wickedness in this scene is astonishing.
It always amazes me when people who should be for each other are against each other. Then people who who are the most loyal to each other could have just been passerbys

People asked why did she burn the paper?
There are 2 answers that we have in life for critical moments of why we burn paper.

1. Burning our past
2. The last time, when we are done we are done. AWAKEN Fighting SPIRIT

Lack of morals.
The maid just got slapped now she is smiling while fl gets whipped.
That is the arrogance transferred from her owner.

She wouldn't dare smile if she had a nice owner.
I emphasize owner because she has bent to her owners character, they are the same

OOOOH WEEEE.
I love to see how character's face turn when they are given the opportunity to have FACE - they will turn their nasty into sweet acceptance.
A quick alignment shift - is a welcoming sight. It shows how fake these character's compasses are.

These children playing the struggle life are doing an amazing job.
They are just as good as veteran actors.
I hope to see more of them in the future.
BTW - so far this is an ALMOST amazing drama.

FL's BFF is amazing.
Borderline annoying.
BUT SHE IS A FRFR FRIEND.

Fu Zhi is RIDE AND DIE...😂
She said - hang him from the beam and beat him for 3 days...😂

Another chance to turn a smart woman in to a witch.
But if it were a man, he'd be called a STRATEGIST
And of course - she must die

In an effort to stop women from stepping in to the cares of the world - the left chancellor is willing to do anything.
We know our lead will survive, but not how.
Can't wait for the trickery to be folded.

Every death wish strengthens our fl to ...
Let's see what she becomes after this 2nd or 3rd proximity to death

Here we are again. A capable Emperor being stifled by a Chancellor who is greedy for control not necessarily power - or is it a bit of both?
Is Left Chancellor Xu - the dark masked Villain we saw on top of the dunes?

OOOOOOOOOOH!
It is sweet when mercy is short for those who only deserve death.
My girl thought she was going to get a full pardon.
No, Boo. But you get to keep your whole body intact.
✌

I hate playacting manipulation.
Meng's character loses points for me.
😔
But DANG! Did she play this part.
Wu Jin Yan is a force to be reckoned with as an actress.
I don't think she's ever disappointed me.

Starting ep 6 on Mango - because Viki is always behind.
The show is good enough for me - that I don't want to wait

oh heck no, the original enemy showed up
She fell to an all time low and is willing to be someone's trick to exact her revenge.
Isn't that normal of villains.
They create strife for others but when they get a taste of their own medicine they are in an ultimate rage.

Our Right Chancellor & Teacher seems to have a crush on Zhi Li - who is at least half his age. She also seems to have an affection for him. I hope my spidey senses are wrong as he is a married man.

This piece of paper he is working on - will surely cause trouble sooner than later

NOT THE PLEASURE HOUSE, BOO!
My girl just bet her cookie for the Women's Exam.
😂 and now they want to but all the other ladies - cookies on bond too.
Girl, you've gone too far.
Why not just promise to never interfere in politics, why give up the cookie?

THE CURSE OF THE EMPEROR
- CAST ASIDE ALL PRIVATE AFFECTIONS TO UPHOLD THE GREATER GOOD OF ALL UNDER HEAVEN.
Huāngdàn

Costumes
Our Emperor is wearing a nice colorful woven material. It is a sight to see compared to our usually extra silky or extra ragged clothing. This is a great in between resembling a tribal pattern.
& HE LOOKS GOOD IN IT

Guard Nian > Zhi Li < Old Man Xu (R. Chancellor)
is this a love triangle waiting to happen?

looks like an old rival has arrived.
They don't show his face but they do show a memorable item.

The mention of Meng entering the palace was likened to ...
Daji - who was the alleged favorite consort of Di Xin, the last king of the Shang dynasty in ancient China.
In historical legends and some fictions, she is portrayed as a malevolent fox spirit who kills and impersonates the real Daji. It has been stated - she seduced and manipulated King Di Xin, turning the once-capable ruler into a cruel tyrant through extreme decadence, perverse entertainment, and horrific tortures that ultimately caused the downfall of the Shang dynasty.

Because - he would not have done that by himself...lol - So she was the Chinese version of Jezebel?

What is up with these Vigilante Ladies?

She was entirely within her rights to investigate and apprehend them. But my girl straight-up beat the man half to death in the middle of the street.

Not only did she successfully provoke the bandits as intended, but she has now managed to incense the entire royal court.

Is Bixia genuinely furious with her, or is he simply playing politics to placate his ministers?

Fu Zhi - please don't start acting silly and reckless.
I really like this character's loyalty.
But her voice and childish mannerisms are ridiculous.
While we have our girl out here trying to make changes - Fu Zhi needs to mind her business - is it called Baiofeng?
