Against the Current

If you have not watched historicals for a while - you'd be confused on these relationships.

Xiuwan is Jin Qi's cousin not his sister
She is his 1st cousin from the 2nd family or household
Jin Qi is from the 1st household

Standard drama - but DANG IT IS GOOD!
😂 I had to reposition my body for the action...😂

Poor Xiuwan.
Why did her mother wait until the last minute to tell her?
That makes it more traumatic.

This ep went by like a flash of light.
Writers and production did a great job. I hope they keep this standard.
Please do not disappoint us later with a rushed ending.

Again - my opinion is this is a cookie cutter drama - but it is great because they created the lines, scenes, and everything with excellence. It is steady excellence and simplicity and that makes for a great end product.

The last time I felt like this was Prisoner of Beauty but they dropped the ball when they added unnecessary drama from the chick who got her nose chopped off...😂

wow against the current has shocked me. they are actually detouring from your standard cookie cutter drama . it is good to see that the matriarch is being responsible and not just handing over control of the estate to the next in line or the next blood relative or the next big name in the house. she is actually handing over control of the house and fear that she dies or passes out she is handing control over to the servant.

The game
The action
...I am here for it.

I love that our leads are unknowingly working together seamlessly

The men are truly on a mission and if you had not been paying attention - it would be easy to mistake what is going on.
I even had to think for a moment.
😂, I like it when a drama makes me have to actually think.

Lin Xiu Ru - as expected - SHE SHINES
The Lins were sleeping on Lin Xiu Ru - SHE IS THE VIP MVP

Ji'er 😔
If you gonna be forced to be a heaux - YOU BETTER BE THE BEST DANG HEAUX!
👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

She is earning her redemption

Xiu Wan'a mom was embarrassed of her.
I thought she was cute and telling her cousin some useful advice.
