Jiejie’s Take
So, a failed idol actor tries musical theater, accidentally kisses the director, and then gets 'devilish' training? Sounds less like a comeback story and more like a very specific, very dramatic job interview. I'm just wondering, how many accidental kisses does it take to get a main role in a musical? Because if it's just one, my career path might need a serious re-evaluation.
Synopsis
Jin Xi, a singer whose initial venture into acting was met with widespread public ridicule due to his poor performance, decided to change course. Determined to prove his critics wrong and stage a successful comeback, he set his sights on musical theater.
Through an unexpected turn of events, he shared an accidental, intimate kiss with Ning Jin, an esteemed, uncompromising, and highly skilled director in the musical theater world. Their paths soon converged again when Jin Xi auditioned for a production under her direction.
Ning Jin, already skeptical of celebrities transitioning into serious theater, was particularly harsh on Jin Xi, whom she perceived as an undeserving newcomer who had simply been parachuted into the production. She subjected him to an incredibly rigorous and demanding training regimen.
Despite facing ostracism from senior troupe members, deliberate sabotage from rivals, and constant public scrutiny, Jin Xi dedicated himself to relentless practice, day and night. He gradually shed his idol persona, revealing his authentic self and slowly earning the respect of the initially aloof director and the rest of the troupe. Together, the pair navigated numerous challenges throughout their journey.
