As someone who doesn't typically gravitate toward ghost stories, the fact that this historical thriller was created by the same company as the brilliant The Devil Judge has me completely hooked! That previous series was dark, twisted, and kept my eyes glued to the screen, so I'm expecting a similar level of gripping intensity and a complex, well-penned script here. I'm especially excited to see the dynamic between the practical ghost-slayer Gu Cheon and the court lady, Saeng Gang, who is forced to use her strange gift to survive and solve the mystery.
Set in late Joseon, strange and chilling incidents plague the palace, hinting at a curse residing within the East Palace—the residence of the Crown Prince. The King secretly tasks palace guard Gu Cheon, a renowned ghost-slayer, and Court Lady Saeng Gang, who possesses the unique and unwanted ability to hear the sounds of ghosts, to investigate. Together, this unlikely pair must delve into an unfathomable world of darkness to uncover the true nature of the palace's supernatural affliction.
